Rotterdam-headquartered KOTUG commissioned WMT to produce a comprehensive Technical Operating Manual for their newly acquired, high-specification DP2 ASD Anchor-handling tug “SD POWER”. Being a global leader in the towage sector, KOTUG recognise the need to provide their crew with vessel-specific, clear and comprehensive operating procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation of their high-value assets.
The e-manuals had to be on board in just 54 days time, before SD POWER completed her delivery voyage from Rotterdam to Australia. With the challenging deadline set - it was all hands on deck!
Our technical experts immediately flew out to Rotterdam to carry out a full technical survey of the vessel before SD POWER embarked on her delivery voyage.
Back at our UK Head Office, one of our master mariner Project Managers mobilised the work team and planned the project. Our Technical Authors, all with extensive sea-going backgrounds, got straight to work analysing the vessel drawings and writing safe, comprehensive operating procedures. Our Technical Illustrators produced fully colour-coded illustrations of all installed systems, layouts and controls.
All on board systems were covered:
Our team’s dedication and over 2,000 work-hours meant that the deadline was met! The completed the e-manuals were on board by the time SD POWER reached Australia - to the full satisfaction of the Captain and Owners!
